Pinegrove is a well appointed property in Twizel, with great access to the outdoors and stunning views. SPF created a complete brand identity for Pinegrove Cottage, from logo through to business cards and website.

Twizel is located in the heart of Mackenzie District and is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and people who enjoy the natural beauty of South Island NZ. With this in mind we created a logo that epitomises these qualities. We took inspiration from American outdoor camp badges, cubs and scout badges and logos from the outdoor industry by using simplified icons to represent the landscape and encompassing these features in a banded oval using a complimentary, modern font for the text. This combination gives the feeling of a rustic, honest property but with modern day amenities.

For the colour palette we took the natural colours from a sunset and applied them in a stylised block format in the logo and throughout the website. This technique is used frequently by outdoor brands, most notably Patagonia. We chose to do this so that those outdoor enthusiasts visiting Twizel would immediately have an affinity for our logo/branding and be more likely to stay at Pinegrove than another generic motel.
